I received so many queries about "How is this an oxymoron?" that I made up this little message to help questioners understand why this entry actually is two oxymorons in one!
:))

Plastic is one substance; Glass is another.
Think of a “plastic glass” in the same way you might think of “plastic silverware”, another oxymoron.

PLASTIC: A plastic material is any of a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organic amorphous solids used in the manufacture of industrial products.

GLASS: Strictly speaking, a glass is defined as an inorganic product of fusion which has been cooled through its glass transition to the solid state without crystallising.[2][3][4][5][6] Many glasses contain silica as their main component and glass former

Because I was going for two oxymorons at once, this is the explanation for the rest of my title:

Think of “Black” as the absence of “Light”
Then think of “Light” as the absence of “Black”
Therefore Black Light is an oxymoron.

BLACK LIGHT: A "black light" or "UV light" is a lamp emitting electromagnetic radiation that is almost exclusively in the soft near ultraviolet range, and emits very little visible light

Incidentally, I used Black Light to make this photograph. It was not easy to do!

(quick definitions come from that font of wisdom: Wikipedia)

Okay, teaching moment is over. Thanks for reading this.

Having shot under Black Light before I know it was not easy. I think you got the focus just right. Probably deserved to finish higher up

can't get the oxymoron here. odd choice of shot. the small bit of blue on the left is distracting. 5 ETA thanks for the explanation, makes me feel a little dopey that i missed something as simple as "plastic glass" and well, i DO consider myself a little intelligent honestly i SHOULD have gotten "black light" i'm disappointed in myself and disappointed i only gave this a 5 obviously more thought was put into it than i gave you credit for, even though i've been spending time on each shot i'm going to move forward taking a little more time to see what i might be missing
