I took this photo in a park in Dublin, lots of birds running around and I was lucky to get this guy when he started to fly!
I dont usually ask for critiques. but I'm a bit surprised at my score, techincally wise I thought the picture was really good and worthy of the top 10% percentile.
One fault that I know of in this picture is that the head of the bird is slightly out of focus, that's why I didn't choose a closer crop.
editing steps
JPEG edited in PS CS4,
increased saturation a bit,
moved the hue slider to get a greener vegetation,
increased contrased,
USM
a bit of dodging to hide the overexposed splash of water.
Looking at the picture again I realise its not a national geographic photo lol, but I do believe there is a "WoW" factor involved and probably should have earned an extra point on the average, but perhaps theres something I;m not seeing.
