Great scrapbook feel to this image. Reminds of William Burroughs' collages. Radical art-making, in my view. |

One of my top votes in this challenge and it's down in 214! ? A lot of people who vote on here only like 'eye-candy' type photos - to them I say - 'open your eyes and your mind'

The grainy B&W goes so well with this. |

This is a hard image to comment on. I do like the B&W as the tones are really bright white and deep black. I assume that you were going for an artistic feel with the out of focus boy and with his eyes closed. However it does not really work for me. It just seems more odd than artistic. The tilt is also something that does not add to the photo. |

I would love to know what is going on in the girl's mind. That posture cracks me up. |

Wonderful moment. A pity his eyes are closed, although I suppose he could be making a wish,. |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: What a quirky scene! The looks on both of their faces when put together makes for amazing story telling. The composition is really clever, with the eye drawn to the background and the negative space above, it has the feel of a comic cell await lettering - the juxtaposition of (non-speech) balloons adds to the overall mental image. The tilt to the table is masterful too and reinforces the visual effect and crafted feel. The high contrast black and white handling - fabulous choice!
Critical stuff: Nothing at all.
Overall: Quite fabulous - i'm sure this will pick up a lot of admirers. |
