 I used a pale yellow glass marble, the water is tap water with red and green food coloring. This gave me a dark yellow which lightened up fine when I flashed it.
Lit from the back left and the right front. I took hundreds of shots and got quite a few good images but (for me) this one had something special.
Johanna ( tanguera) mentioned the reflection in the marble. To be honest, I was quite surprised myself when I saw the it. To me it looked like an angel holding up its wing or some continent on the globe(my imagination running away with me ;-) I assume it's the splash in the reflection...
Thanks for the great comments. Special thanks to Denis ( phlover). You all made me glad I did enter this photo. After three votes I was sitting on a NINE, this has never happened to me before. The score took a while to settle down and has hovered around 7 for most of the week, which is fabulous!

Irene, Irene, you dont cease me to amaze me with these kind of shots...if you are not Irene, please dont be upset, take it as a good complement. I dont care about what anybody says about water shots. This is a such a awesome photo, the tones, the lighting, the composition, the sharpness, the concept, the relation between the tranquility of the liquid, the splash and the "earth" sinking in a sea of oil is beautifully conceived... Shold be the winner of this challenge in my opinion. 10
