A Redtailed Hawk (I think) cruising past on a late summer day. Loved how the light struck him and he most certainly looked like he owned that patch of sky.
PP - tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), increased saturation on original layer, dodged hawk on tonemapped layer and merged with original in luminosity mode at 40% transparency, cropped, dodged hawk some more, shifted greens yellower, increased contrast, increased saturation on orange-red, resized, sharpened, cloned out sharpening haloes, added border. |

Incredible detail. How fortunate that the light was coming from under him than over. I'd want to crop it just a little tighter to give this gorgeous bird a little more prominence in the sky. |
