Coming back to leave comments. You have a good composition here with many good details, attention to details (nice costume on the model), colors, and backdrop environment suited to theme and main subject. Some nice action going on with the stance of her arms and the splash of her feet - but I think it could be even better if the sword were pointed in a more threatening manner at the viewer. Mayhap angle it in a tad more towards us (not too much for then it would not be fully visible). The other thing that is a big detractor from the composition is the harsh flash which gives very strong highlights off of the pants, belt sash, her skin and the red satin shirt. I am going to assume you used straight flash so that you could make your model visible against the backdrop of the sunset at the beach. The problem again is that it creates some rather bold or harsh highlights ....a simple and very inexpensive fix on toning down those harsh highlights is to use tissue paper wrapped once or twice around the flash unit of the camera - this 'diffuses' the light and is something that I have done on several occasions to avoid harsh light from flash and/or deep shadows. Still it is a good shot that captures the spirit of the challenge. |

Great lighting and pose but she doesn't look too interested in taking this picture and I think that takes a little something away from it. 6 |

Great job with the extra effort to get her at the ocean! |

Like Venus emerging from the --- No, wait. Like Jacqueline Sparrow emerging from the... Fun image, although I find the flash lighting a bit overpowering, making her look unnatural in that setting. About 20 minutes earlier and the sky would have been brighter, and the effect would have been better balanced. |

I like where this is going. But I think we need some expression on the model's face. She looks more bored than into her "part." Also, I'm not a huge fan of the flash. It's good for fill light, but I think maybe it should have been gelled to more match the mood of the time of day. |

Nice capture; the blouse seems to overpower the model. She does not look like she is into having her picture taken, lol. |

cool shot, but she looks far too clean and the shot is just too staged. |
