 I hate this title but couldn't come up with anything better to help the picture fit the challenge.

A candid shot of somebody I do not know at the beach. That is a wall behind him.

Thanks! It seems like most people didn't think this image fits the challenge as well as some of the others did despite liking it as a photograph.

The way the boy is facing to the left, it almost makes him look trapped by the edge of the image. If he were facing the open area it may give it a more appealing look. None the less, a good photo. Well done.

I like this picture a lot - I'm not sure it fully meete the challenge but the muted colours and detail are great and the unusual crop gives it a real reportage feel - 8

I guess I don't understand this challenge at all, so I'm just commenting on the image itself. This is just marvelous. I'm guessing he's near a wall of some sort, or the world's biggest wave? The muted colors are sensational, as is the great detail and sharpness of the boy and sand. The dof really adds a lot to this image, as does the vignetting, although I think the border weakens the composition.

You took the "easy" option of a head and a ball (as suggested in the challenge brief). However, yours is the only photo in this challenge that actually looks like some effort went into making it. Nice compositional balance, good choice of tones and colours. Ribbon contender.
