Shooting for this challenge I really had no idea what I was aiming for so I just tried a bunch of different motives. This is the view upwards in the stairway of my apartment building. I played around with rotation and crop a bit until I finally found one where the lines sort of lined up with the edges of the frame.

PP in lightroom:
Process as B/W
Exposure, black clipping, contrast
Crop, rotate
Noise reduction, sharpening

Thank you all for the wonderful comments!

This was a very fun challenge to shoot for as well as to vote in, and I am truly honored to place top-ten among such amazing pictures! The score is a personal best for me as well, which makes it twice as exciting :)

The idea behind the Posthumous Ribbon is to encourage you to break the rules, to find new and different ways to express yourself. To free your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come, to laugh at world and at life, not doing what others are expecting you to do, but just following and listening to what's in your heart. DPC itís a wonderful learning place where everyone should be supported on their way to be a photographer. A special attention should be aimed to those working hard with different views and approaches to photography, those not aligned with the mainstream taste and receiving no recognition. Itís our responsibility to support these photographers creating diversity and expressing different visions. Being active at the Posthumous thread itís the best way to do it. Being active at the Posthumous thread itís the best way to protect your and the otherís freedom of being different. Thanks for taking the time to enter this challenge. Stay wild.

Such beautiful geometry, so clean, so pristine, I find myself holding my breath so as not to not disturb anything.

I like a strong diagonal but with the sharp focus and regularity the image is still a bit static.

Nice lines - but the border is almost as much an element to this photo as the photo itself. 6

I have no idea if this fits the challenge topic (what exactly IS an image that most people won't 'get'?), but I REALLY like it. Perfectly composed and I love those strong blacks and whites. (not voting)

Fabulous rhythm and good DOF. The tilt and the sunlight on one side finish off the composition nicely.

Nice angle and great b&w. The heavy border works well with this.
