Usually these guys are attached to the trunks of trees so I got lucky when he perched on a branch. I like that the little bit of orange on his body is brought out by the background.
PP - tonemapped in qtpfsgui (pregamma 0.697, mantiuk method, contrast mapping 0.1, saturation factor 1.029, detail factor 1), erased background, lightened and merged at 20% transparency, cropped, white balance, increased saturation and contrast, dodged and desaturated bits of bird, colored a few bits of background oranger, resized, sharpened, blurred background more and burnt a little of tree, added border. |
