WOW .. this is absolutely fantastic .. what a great mood you've captured and the processing is perfect .. wonderful tones .. wonderful clarity .. wonderful composition .. and so christmasy .. !!!

| The composition is pleasing to me - I like the upper right (an area where our eyes tend to go) as blank - that balances nicely against the curves of the ornaments. I very much like your choice of monochromatic toning. In our mind's eye, we can see bright colors if we wish, but the monochrome tends to emphasize the form and textures more. A very quiet sort of photograph. Nicely done! |

Very interesting studio work, nice use of the light and pretty much no glare. You put the camera on a tripod (or you're incredibly steady to shoot handlheld at 0.3) so I sense a great deal of commitment to this shot. Great lighting and love the dof here.
Not the most traditionally 'Christmas-y' shot, perhaps, as you used a blue filter to wipe out the expected colours. And for many Christmas is, sadly, not a time of joy and celebration. To explore that side, as I see you doing here imho, says you're daring and willing to take risks, so I definitely applaud you for that!

I love the tone and the dramatic lighting of this composition. A very interesting entry. My eye travelled from dark to light and back again, very cool

| Composition is adventuresome. Tones are luscious. The OOF curve in BG is very mysterious, light falloff upper right leads us into a void, all very strong. It's as if these ornaments are in orbit around a moon or something. Alien stuff. The image doesn't actually speak of the spirit of Christmas to me, as a matter of fact, despite that the ornaments are specifically themed around that. Your choice to use BW instead of color, for such a colorful subject, is brave :-O) |

Wow, this is great! lighting, tones and depth of field are perfect. Reminds me a lot of a challenge winner from a couple of years ago.
