The sun was setting behind the high rises at the beach. It was unbelievably cold and windy, but oddly the sea was fairly calm.

I was trying to shoot, but my hands were numb from the freezing wind. This guy was quite a ways out with waves up to his pits - took a few of those shots, but they weren't so good.

Then he came out of the water, walked to the other side of the pier and started fishing from there - not quite as deep. Even with the water suit on, I don't know how he stood it.

Nice clear shot, doesn't look cold but the wind is blowing the tops of the waves off.

Looks like fun - over here at this time of year we do a lot of beachcasting when the cod are in close.

I Like this. The color and the pattern of his pants ties in the the posts on the bottom of the pier. This is an excellent use of leading lines. The colors of the water are sparkling.

The thumb made me think it was 3 tall pylons and a short one. It's a person!!! Very cool.

I never would have thought that camo pants would help in the ocean, but he blends right in with the pier. This photo actually tells a bit of a story. You've got the foreground fisherman, but also the fishing boat in the background. Kind of shows a changing of the times with people still clinging to the old ways while the commercial fisherman do their thing.

Certainly doesn't look cold :) Love the layers of blues and greens. And really awesome light.
