 OK here we go:

1 exactly one rubber ducky - Ducky in prop room. Check
2 one or more vegetables - a very large parsnip. Check.
3 something red - ribbon off a candy rose bouquet. Check.
4 a piece of string or rope - kitchen twine tied around parsnip and draped over Ducky's shoulder. Check.

Now the fun part, the three light sources:

* luminescent 'rocks' from loonie store in front of Ducky;
* small tealight candle to the upper right of frame; and
* the glowing orange LED from my cordless phone used on the left side of Ducky's head :-) Had to keep pressing buttons to keep it glowing, and only used it for maybe 5 seconds of the final exposure.

Camera on tripod, Ducky and props on kitchen table with backdrop draped over it. Used mirror lockup and ever-increasing long exposures, started around 10 and finished at 20. Knew I'd do a long exposure as soon as I found the GITD rocks. Tried with a flash as the third light a few times, both the built-in flash and a handheld ministrobe, but that light just killed the other light sources. So explored my options and used the cordless :-)

pp: RAW-TIFF conversion, crop, shadow/highlights, brightness/contrast, minor cloning, resize, sharpen, save for web

Lovely light and composition, but the parsnip is genius.

Susan, I thought this was really good then when I read "the glowing orange LED from my cordless phone used on the left side of Ducky's head :-)" and glowing jelly beans, OMG What a great idea! Should've scored higher, In my opinion!
