This picture is taken at the Gangasaagar Transit Camp near Babughat, Kolkata, India. Many people from different places come to Gangasaagar to take a dip in the holy Ganges. I found an old lady holding this lamp as a aprt of a ritual.

I think most people are not aware of the Indian version of lamp. Thanks Sara for pointing out.

Astounded this didn't place in the top 10. For those who thought this didn't meet the challenge, the woman is holding an aarti lamp, which contains a cotton wick, which she is offering up to the deities.

DNMC, fire isn't a lamp.

The angle and colors are great.I feel close to the man in this image. Saturated colors and sharp focus on the hands give the man presence. He is the builder of flames. The keeper of the flame of hope. A noble thing for sure.

The green mass of what I presume is torso/arm and leg on the left side of the image is distracting. With so much area OOF, the hands are visually smaller. Cropping the image or composing it originally to make the hands larger on the sensor would give them more strength.

Hmmmm, a bit of a stretch, lampwise. But a very engaging image.

Splendid Work !!!
I feel that the dark greenish part in the left hand side is a little unnecessary....I mean if the snap is cropped in the left side omitting the greenish part it wud becum super perfect perhaps ...
