Perhaps not as spiritual as my geese, but very nice ;)
The setting doesn't look like what I would expect from your neck of the woods though... what it makes me think of is tundra, especially the way the pool seems somewhat on its own. |

Amazing, the background reminds me of Alan Lee's illustration of the Dead Marshes from the Lord of the rings... and I just saw Anita's image from New Zealand :). Interesting how the painting texture is applied - is it a gradient from bottom to top or just naturally, as the scene goes out of focus? |

I like how the mallards have small, more precise details while the background is chunkier and less precise. It lets you decide if they are flying over a marshy area or above the clouds, with water showing through the breaks. Lovely, lovely image. |
