All my stuff except the tuberculin syringe I "borrowed" from work.

Assembled on the top of my step-stool (plus guitar stand). Overhead incandescents and indirect sunlight.

Used spot-metering and fixed ISO=100 to reduce noise on the hat; tried to get the focus sharpest on the fingertip callouses.

Cloned out a few dust spots and a couple of scratches hot spots on the glass.

Cropped, tone curve to bring out some detail in the shadows (mostly to make the pick show up), USM at 88%; 0.8 dia; TH=5; JPEG=8/10

Type added; font is Rage Italic LET

This should have placed much much higher. Well done. Interesting and well placed props. Good focus. Parts of the hat seem too dark but with the comment of shot being too light, it must be my monitor. However the hand is almost too light. Nice shot.

I think you need a bit more contrast, to make the dark areas darker, as this is quite a "dark themed" image.
