Published in the Estes Park News, as one of the front page images on March 25, 2011. So, even though I received a big batch of "3" votes, this image is appreciated by some outside of DPC.

This shot is so lovely, I can't believe anyone could give it a 3 without malicious intent. Congratulations on getting it published. (This comment is seriously belated, but I did give you a 9.)

A wonderful shot all around. Congrats on the HM. Didn't vote in the challenge and just happened to come upon this shot. Would you have any quarrels to cloning out that piece of twig that extends under the bird's right wing? the shot would've been a clean 10 for me. It would've felt more free and open as that piece of twig is somewhat distracting. It's a personal issue I understand as I've been hesitant to clone out things which I would've loved to have not in the shot but left them in. Was sort of in a 50/50 situation.

I apparently gave this a 4... which I didn't. Hmm. Must've been a recorded keystroke when voting that went from a 4 to yours. Sorry about that.
Fortunately the 6 or 7 I'd've really given it it wouldn't have pushed you to third.

Such a fitting title for this challenge. You have captured this bird beautifully. The detail in the wings is amazing and I am noticing you even have a catch light in the eye. Even the twigs in the corner play an important part of making this image great, the colors contrast nicely with the blue of the bird. One of the top images in this challenge for sure.
