In my earlier comment, I wrote that I gave this photo an 8, but actually I gave it a 9 (obviously, I can't type!) Now, I'm putting this one in my favs...;-)

I̢۪ve come back several times to this image as it really appeals to me. I love the composition and timing of the image but it̢۪s the grainy, dark bokeh that adds that extra emotional connection for me. I love it and bumping to a 9.

I feel like I should like this much more than I do. I guess I don't understand the composition. I think the plant on the right steals far too much attention. Maybe much tighter cropping would help. Otherwise, I love the bokeh and the bird's posture.

This is the first halfway decent thing I've seen in this challenge. Your subject is beautifully framed by the natural elements. The duotone is a pleasing touch. Poetic.

What a pleasant break this is, from the rather numbing sameness of the bulk of these images. How soothing to rest with, and contemplate a while. I'm sorting you in my 6's slot for now, but you will be bumped for sure.
