I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: It's been a long time since I've seen a selective desaturation look this good. It is perfectly (and eclectically) judged and the tones in the background add considerably to the overall effect. Those browns and the blue complement each other perfectly.
Critical stuff: Nothing really
Overall: How to make gimmicky not. Excellent. |

I'm not normally a fan of selective desaturation unless it adds to the photo. I don't find it does here. There also seems to be too much glow to the photo. Not fond of the butt/underwear showing either, that's what my eyes are drawn to. If this were all in B&W I would score it higher. |
