The rising sun provided the colour burst on the water. I took this shot for the challenge and the motion and panning blur were intentional. I chose a really small aperture in the lowest ISO my cameral can do to allow a slow enough shutter speed to achieve my goals. I had an idea of what I wanted but to be honest this turned out a little different but I was still happy with the result. The hash lines and darker line under the leading gull are from a swimming area shark net that I was hoping to add interest but they have just about disappeared and have become probably more of a distraction than anything else.

I have no illusions that this will be widely accepted (although always a little hopeful) but it is something I would like to hang on a wall. This will probably score in the mid to high 4’s but I’m hoping it may attract a few comments from those who may appreciate this kind of image.

As a work in progress (your slow s/s BiF work) this is very enjoyable. Great POV and good technique.
The uniformity of the black parallel lines to mid right of image did detract from the flow and bob, the purpose or your intent when taking the shot.

Greetings from the Critique Club:

I think this is a really nicely made and attractive image. I also think it deserved better score-wise. I'm really surprised you called it pretty bang-on.

I enjoyed your notes - and how your explain your intent.

I like how you've captured the reflection of the sun in a succession of curves and you've managed to catch the birds in juxtaposition and I think the degree of motion blur is perfectly judged.

Your five 1s surprise me - there's nothing here to dislike, I can only think some people thought it was DNMC. I certainly don't agree.

There's not a lot I can offer by way of a critique since I would change a thing.

Really beautiful. A bit dark for a wallprint, but very interesting to look at all the same.
