 I am in constant amazement of the phoenix-like constant death and rebirth of our heirloom rosebush. Catching it on the down cycle I thought I captured a sense of despair.

Lovely hues. I like your composition too - the bokeh is like a memory of old roses, inhabiting half the frame. Wistful, the waiting to bloom again.

With some thought I get the metaphor but the photo doesn't say sadness. Bokeh is nice though. Good luck.
