Thanks everyone for all of the nice comments. This was one of maybe 20 different shots I took of grasshoppers at the park - they are very easy to get close to, much like Praying Mantis.

However, they are just shy enough to be interesting - they like to peer around the grass blades to keep an eye on you, so to speak, and this makes for almost comical expressions.

Reminds me of A Bugs Life. Nature imitating art. I like everything about it but especially the precise focus on the bug's head.

I was getting sick of all the bug shots, but this is probably the best out of the bunch. There were a few other very exceptional bug shots, but this one wins. 10!
