 taken from about 6 inches with iphone. i set up a bank of florescent lights on the right and white reflector on the left and draped a black velvet cloth behind the flower.
i was amazed at the ability to get a pretty good exposure.
i found that i just needed to get the composition, touch the screen to set the exposure and focus, then take the shot. this was hand-held with my knuckles on the table.

i did have to go into photoshop to clean it up some. some healing brush, dodge and burn and noise reduction mostly. for some reason these purple flowers came across much bluer than the real thing so i had to adj hue to get it back to its real color. I noticed the same problem with my Oly. E-500. maybe it was some white balance problems, not sure.

As far as camera's in phones go, this is the best I've seen so far. I'm so used to saturated colors, that I might've upped that ante a smidge, but it's really well done. NICE ONE 8

Great lighting. A more colorful flower might have had more impact but great setup to pull an image like this from a phone.
