My daughter at a local park. This is my first shot at doing advanced editing. Thanks for the mistake ;-) Probably overdid it, but I enjoyed the chance. I like the shot. I had tried getting my daughter to pose on the slides and stuff, then caught this one by chance after we were done. I think candids are better than poses most often. I think the selective desat actually works here. It brings attention to the child and the park toys, and I think the audience is thinking why isn't she playing? No other kids? Time out? Bored? hmmm.

thanks for checking out my pic. :-)

Great shot! The blue makes it "pop" IMHO.

Very cool photograph. The brilliant blue in here captured me and sent my senses soaring. I really like this.

blue sky behind the trees takes away from the drama of the rest of the playground blue. Nice perspective though.

I like the idea, but I'm not crazy about the blue present in the trees....I like a photo that features deselected colors.....yet, the color found in the sky behind the trees is very destracting

The play equipment worked well but I think the blue on the dress and the trees could have been done a bit better. Nice try though. a 4 from me this time

Fun selective desaturation. I like how the blue is both in the girls dress and in the play structure - as if she is being invited to play, loose the blues. The blue on the play structure seems hyper saturated, perhaps something a little more realistic would be better? It is too bad this was a basic editing challenge - you can get rid of the blue in the trees...

I think the blue of the playground equipment could be toned down just a notch, it appears a little too bright

Ow! The blue is so bright it's blinding! No, it's okay, but it is really bright. Vivid and clean though. Nice.

The blue is too harsh but maybe that was your goal.

There is a purple / blue hue in the trees that takes a lot away from the photo. As it was advanced editing you could have cloned it out.

I really like the little girl sitting on the bench; I think the selective desaturation would've been much more effective had the blues of her dress been the only ones left intact. Of course, it would've had to be done manually, but I think the effect would've been much better. As it is, the playground seems to draw the viewer's eye much more than the girl, and she is the more deserving subject. Maybe try airbrushing the rest out in Colour mode with some black or white, just to see. At any rate, the photo itself is nicely composed.

Terrific capture. Only thing I would say to try differently (maybe, maybe not) is tone down the blue in the gym just a bit and see what it looks like that way. Great work though either way!

Some desaturation issues here: Try lowering the saturation on all the channels except blue, instead of trying to select areas. You missed a bunch of sky behind the trees.

Looks a little bit too saturated. And there is some blue on the trees that think couldn't have been removed. Composition is great. Focus is good. 6.
