(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) – A good abstract (which I generally like), but no single place to focus my eyes. Once I’ve looked at it, nothing really drags me back to it. It would be a great background photo, or computer wallpaper. The lighting effects are very uniform, in part leading to the low interest.
(2) BACKGROUND - None
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL – Pretty good. Good uniform focus. I’d like to see a little less brightness in the reflection. A light coming in at a low angle from the left (right) might have really changed the effect, producing some shadows that added structure. Likewise, a point source would have also changed the effect.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL – Looks good to me.
(5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO – Well executed, but not of the highest interest. Nothing to make me think about or appreciate. Too uniform (which may be what you wanted).

I really like the way the scale is unknowable, except for the title. These could be huge, planet-sized things! The little catchlights in each one are really appealing.

I feel like I can't rest my eyes anywhere on the photo. It needs something to distract me from the endless bbs.

They look like tiny Xmas ornaments! You handled the glare well, I think.

Very pretty. As abstract photos of inanimate objects go, this one pushes all the right buttons. The colours and tones are rich, the lighting is just right, and the arrangement of the little balls is interesting enough to keep my eyes wandering around for a while. It's not a really exciting photo, but it's techically good and I think you achieved what you set out to do.

I like the consistancy of colour and light throughout the whole picture.

Your focus and clarity is excellent in this shot, and I like the bluish tone instead of a brassy or copper tone. It is a nice macro, but is missing something in developing interest. Maybe something mixed in with the bb's... Maybe a red ball orsomething that would stand out and break up the pattern a little. JD

Very cool image! (Jeff, clever title???) How did you get the crinkly effect on the BBs? Slight DOF issue. (how about this one for the single light source!) All in all, I like this picture, issues and all. 8 Swash

Very nice macro. Is this reduced to blue-channel, or did you find blue BB's ?

This would make an interesting windows wallpaper screen :) - setzler

Interesting shot. The only thing I think it needs is a point of focus of some sort. - Inspzil

The lighting and colours in this shot are great. However, there isn't a main focal point in the image, so it lacks any interest after the initial glance.

Awesome detail on these BB's. Great idea for the shot.

Looks like bath beads. or paintballs. Look bigger than BB's, but that could just mean you got really really close. The focus and clarity are great. I love the color and the angle and framing/cropping are great. I like how you have filled the entire frame with the subject. That is really nice. Good luck in the challenge.

This was a great catch! The pattern is excellent, not something you would think of for the subject! I love the light, and the little white dot on each of them! Very nice photo... also great focus! Good luck! - 8

Nice macro. The lighting is good and you have done well with the sharpening. What would really make this shot jump is some center of focus. Something in the bb's to contrast them.

I like the effect of the lighting on all the balls.

A very simple, but very nice composition. I especially like how you kept the reflections on all the BB(s), straight in the center. Good job.

Cool shot!

Ironically, they look like xmas decorations, and the whole thing would not look out of place on a Xmas card, or even blown up and turned into wrapping paper. Hmmmm, now thats an interesting idea....

WOWIE! That's a lot of BB's. Interesting pattern and composition. I'm not crazy about the coloring...seems to have a blue/green overall cast.

In my experence BB's are copper colored, so you applied some heavy color manipulstion, right?
