Cinnabear, you should really calibrate your display; the blood doesn't look magenta at all on a calibrated monitor.

The concept or pun obviously hasn't become clear to all; "Al Dente" doesn't only apply to pasta, the best description would be sth like "you feel it when you bite on it" - and literally it means "with tooth".

Title alone- pasta is the first thing that comes to mind. Should I be implying a pun? A crisp, clear image that is beautifully lit. The execution here is wonderful. I have such mixed feelings on this piece! I appreciate the creative effort but I'm super turned off by the mixed ideas of consumption & bloody pain. Overall, a very memorable image.

LOL.. I'm sure Italians would be up in the arms over such gross interpretation of "Al Dente" :)

Nice picture (although a bit on the gross side ;)
Fantastic lighting. No distracting reflections on the bottle itself, and a nice, clear reflection on the bottom. Well done.

The bottle's reflection doesn't seem straight to me which bothers me, but I love the picture itself. Unique and simplistic. The lighting is very well execute and that's hard to do with reflective items! lol

I'm liking your concept here. I think your fake blood looks completely fake though. It's way too magenta. Perhaps pulling in more orange in post-process would have been better (and it would have complemented the blue nicely). I do commend you for stepping outside of the typical vodka bottle portrait. The blood and tooth definitely adds interest. The reflection is nice, though the blood reflection is pulling the viewer's eyes out of the image a bit. I like the vignette the back-light has generated; I think it adds a darker feel to your image.

I truly dont get this shot but as a photo 7... Maybe I would have rated it better if I understood the message and saw the relevance of the grossness of the scene with the drink that as far as I know should be a stately one..
