I agree with what everyone else has said...
red plate - yep
placemat - yep
black background is distracting
more room at bottom so you don't feel like it's spilling on you!
I don't like mushrooms but this looks so yummy even I'd have a go. |

| This is very yummy in all aspects...the plate offsets the food very nicely and the bamboo mat adds texture and interest. And the food made me hungry so I had to go eat before continuing to comment :-) |

| The red plate is 100% perfect for this image. I really like the angles against the place mat. My main suggestion here would be to make sure the place mat takes up the whole background. The black area isn't adding anything to this photo for me. |

| Little changes here, as it's a great shot as is. Be careful about cropping the gravy out. a little bit more breathing room on the bottom would be nice. |
