Yes, he does have a serious look, and in other shots he is smiling more. His expression here is one of the big reasons why I chose to use this shot though. It's a very serious and dry expression, but when I was taking the shot I knew I wanted to do a kind of vintage "Spanky and Our Gang" look. I don't know with the hat and truck it just reminded me of the Little Rascals and the expression seemed appropriate. LOL.
I love all the comments I've gotten on this shot. Thanks to all, and once again thank you to you Deb. :)

fascinating. we don't quite know what to make of the expression, and the sepia supports the suggestion that he might be right out of The Grapes of Wrath. |

I really liked this, but somehow wish he was laughing, or smiling. I realise he might've been tired or just had enough. |

Very cute little guy, but I'm not sure about the crop in this one, in my opinion it would be better either cropped closer or farther back to see more of the truck. Also this was taken at a slight angle from above, I think a lower angle more at his eye level would have been more effective. I would also like to see him either purposely looking away from the camera or looking strait at the camera. Sorry I don't mean to be nit picky because otherwise this is a great shot, I guess I am just thinking out loud about what would take this shot from a good shot to a great shot. |

Ok, now this is effective use of sepia! Love the contrast and tonal range. Adorable subject too. |
