i need more stuff in focus! a longer depth of field could help. the tag needs to be clear. i have a hard time with the raw reflection of the flash on the bottom of the glass.

The pink label adds color, but it blocks the effect soome, I am afraid.

If portrait 'upright' and teabag placed in full glass of liquid to show tea stain moving out and flashlit from side to catch transition and composed with more care.... this would have got more points - transition idea ok, just needs more application.

That lable ruins the picture

Doesn't illustrate the title too clearly.

Did you mean to rotate this? I'm not too sure about the suitablility to the subject, but that seems like a common problem with this challenge, so I'm not going to get too worried about that aspect. The larger problem is that the composition doesn't really do much for me at all. The glass has some interesting textures on it, and I think you might have got more out of it.

Good picture. I'm not sure if I would have liked it better if the transition from water to tea would be more visable. It gets a high note anyhow.
04/23/2002 12:12:00 PM
think i'm lost as to what the transition is...
04/23/2002 10:46:00 AM
I don't see a transition here. Maybe a contrast, as suggested by your title. But the image alone shows no signs of a cold night... or a transition.

Im not sure of the transition, nor of the angle of the photo. ..
04/22/2002 09:05:00 PM
i'm sorry, the angle you used is really throwing me off, so much so that i can't see the transition
04/22/2002 07:41:00 PM
This needs to be rotated

Very unusual angle. Maybe a lighter base would have allowed for the discoloration of the water/tea to show through better.

With the help of the title and the tea label, I finally figured out what is going on in this photo. I think this is a difficult and devious angle for photographing a glass of tea.
04/22/2002 01:35:00 PM
i don't want to sound harsh, but it would have been nice to see some evidence of it being a cold night, like some steam comming from the tea or something like that.
04/22/2002 01:14:00 PM
Whats the transition?
04/22/2002 12:19:00 PM
I don't like the lighting. The angle is too extreme. It looks like you try to add it for dramatic effect but over did it.
04/22/2002 11:37:00 AM
I don't understand the coorolation to TRANSITION....
04/22/2002 10:13:00 AM
water to tea transition ? seems blurry/ out of focus.
04/22/2002 10:04:00 AM
Good idea, but the composition is a little off.
04/22/2002 09:48:00 AM
Nice disruptive angle, but I wish more of the glass was in focus.
04/22/2002 06:51:00 AM
Picture should have been rotated for submission.
04/22/2002 01:01:00 AM
Where's the transition in this picture? Not obvious to me at all.
