I can't believe I'm entering this challenge. I pretty much suck at bug photography. And my good friend, Roz, has spoiled me into thinking that most everyone else also sucks at bug photography :) (not really, but she does set the bar ridiculously high, right?)
I guess I needed to get out of my comfort zone, let go of perfectionism, shoot something besides brides, and/or try something new. So here you go. Likely a perfect candidate for the mediocrity heap... but I have now been officially stretched :)

Go figure... the photos that I feel great about and have high hopes for often slap me down; and other times (like now), with 3 hours to go, I'm holding a 7+ score in a challenge I seriously thought would barely break a 5. I'm shutting up from now on and I guess I'll just keep trying to shoot what I love and hopefully love what I shoot -- and quit guessing :) |

but sandy .. you are too modest .. everything you touch turns to gold in your photography .. people, animals, birds, frogs, lizards and of course insects .. to name a few .. you turn photography into art and beauty .. you are amazing .. :)

| hey sandy .. what a great finish for a brilliant shot .. there were some extraordinary shots in this challenge and this is one of them .. i just love the colouring and the beautiful surroundings of that little wasp .. a truly beautiful image .. :) |

| I'd reckon this would be out of the comfort zone for many. Wasps aren't as kind as bees are. Even with the 100mm I'd imagine you got closer than you felt really comfortable with? look at the bokeh. Congrats on the fine shot. |
