Taken with my little Olympus PEN in Art Filter mode - set to Grainy Film - which gives a high contrast monochrome image with a ton of grain.

At the time of shooting I'd received no reply from SC as to whether this is legal under minimal.

Given the contrast manipulations available on a DSLR and such trickery as Highlight Tone Priority and Peripheral Illumination Correction, I can't see how this is any different.

I like this image quite a bit - lucked out with the pattern of the guy's shirt to complement the circular pattern of the Selfridges building.

After submitting but before rollover I received a reply from SC that this would most likely not be legal. I has no time to reshoot and thought it would do no harm to test it. So I let it stay in and asked a DPC fellow Olympus PEN user to request a validation of my image.

A couple of days after the challenge began I received an email saying the image had been DQ'd - I posted to that effect in the scores forum. At this point, no request for the original had been received - I didn't think too much about that since give it was Minimal, the original is just the same really and the use of the Art Filter shows up in the EXIF of the submitted jpeg anyway.

The next day the image gets reinstated and I get asked for the original. It has stayed under review until then...

I didn't feel I could let people in the forum know since it might be pretty easy to work out which image was mine, so I've stayed quiet about the whole episode. It'll be interesting to see what the final ruling is.

UPDATE: August 4th - validation notification received!

Exquisite patterns, and the reflections work good too, imo.

At first i just saw the top of the image.. and i was like waw. Bottom part - the man and the door is a bit of distraction. Maybe some denoise would also help. Cant vote (non member), but i would give it an 8.
