better than a poke in the eye ;) That's so close, I've never seen the surface of an iris like that, thank you.

The light at the side puts me off a bit because it is too distracting.

This is a very cool shot. I like seeing the reflections in the eye, and the shadows on the iris are awesome. It's an entire landscape.

This meets the challenge. But perhaps a bit starkly.

the strong white highlight to the right middle takes attention away from the composition... I'd crop it out even though that will cut into the eye a bit. Wild color, good sharpness and lighting except for that glare at right.

WOW, I have never seen the iris that close. I'd like to know what lens combo you used for this.

Intense eye shot. Really brings out the texture of the iris, yet still maintains an interesting light angle and even shadow of the eyelashes against the eye. Difficult to do within a macro shot!

No offense, but I've never seen a macro of an eye look so disgusting. It looks like the eye is decaying, which is really gross! It also kinda reminds me of that Dali movie where they cut open the eye, which is, again, really gross : / I don't think I'll ever look at an eye in the same way again now that I know how gross they really are : )
