 WoooHoooooo baseball is over and football has begun.

When I saw this challenge, I thought of this shot, and then realized we had our first game this weekend.

Prolly means there'll be umpteen-eleventy referee/umpire shots, BUT it turned out like I wanted so that means something. To me.

Nice color tones, great bokeh, and clarity. Love the DOF, but can't help wanting to see this same composition stopped down one stop to see what a LITTLE more definition of the action in the background would look like. If it would be at the expense of the bokeh then I would say that you made the right call...no pun intended! 8

Though I am not a sports kind of individual, I can definitely appreciate this photograph. I especially love the brokeh, too. =) Great shot!

Good shot and a good representation for the challenge. I think the one thing that could be changed in this picture to help tell the story better would be to use greater depth of field to allow the background to be slightly more in focus to really portray the football reference and show the referee in his environment better.
