 Sunrise. To me, lens flare is something I as a photographer seek to minimise or avoid and lens manufacturers coat their lenses with special anti flare/glare coatings to reduce the effect.

Besides the obvious "star burst" flare on the sun(rise), there are 2 other aperture related flares in the image and if you look carefully you will find them. Flare is as much about controlling it as using it creatively. I think this challenge will be interpreted as "The more the merrier" and I'll get low votes or comments saying "Star Burst" is not flare. They will have missed the two tiny controlled flares in the image.

The Tokina 12-24mm f/4 Pro DX has gotten some pretty negative reviews online for it's "poor flare" control. i.e: The fact that it flares "excessively". Personally I think it handles flare extremely well. It is one of my favourite lenses and wholly underrated as is the D80's CCD.

A nice shot too and a lovely silhouette. Yes the flare wasn't huge and probably would have made this nice simple shot worse. Looks like you will win your BYOAK - well done
