I just found this one. I can't believe the low scores. This is just fabulous. The rich blue is just terrific. |

I disagree with everyone who said something about changing the composition of this shot. This is eerie, beautiful, and perfect. What a gorgeous find. Thanks for being such a cool participant here, prompting me to comment on your images. It helped me to find a new favorite image. |

This is so amazingly creative and different. It comes across to you with an energy all its own. I can't add a lot to the previous commnets except it is an image that really stands out to me on its own. |

The processing on this shot ROCKS. I was commenting on people's entries with the least comments, but I really wanted to make an exception for your shot here.
The yellow BOOMS and just flies out of the picture at me. I love the glow effect it has. Leaving a little bit green on the inside really adds to the look this has - like the yellow is adding glow to the blue to create the greens. VERY cool. Compositionally, I'm glad there is nothing to distract my eye in the background.
I have a hard time believing this didn't do better, but I think:

That shot was the first one I remember with blue flower backgrounds. I think subconsciously people may have associated the two and thought it was a re-do of a challenge winning technique. (redo's NEVER do well around here.)
Thanks also for the thoughtful comment - I appreciate your time.

I'm surprised this didn't score higher. The color and shallow DOF are excellent. A more off-centered crop (either way) would have helped greatly. Given the advanced editing, you could have pulled some of the blue out of the foreground leaves and cloned out the big white stamen(?) at the bottom of the bud. Maybe an alternate title- "Enlightenment" or "Inner Glow" ? |

I like this pretty well except for the almost dead center composition; I think something a little more dynamic would have suited the subject better. |

great postwork! i think the green halo detracts from the effect. it probably would have been worth painfully selecting the whole yellow part for a more believable final product. if i could vote i'd give this at least an 8 |

This is very beautiful. I might have cropped it with a little more space on the left instead of the right, however.

I like this, especially the blue which you obviously selected and changed. The only problem is the slight overblown part of the bud |

I love your lighting on this one. I also like the contrast between the blues and the glowing center. |

Colors are perfect for this treatment of the flower. If it was mine, I'd probably do a tighter crop left and right, but still, the mood you have created for this is a joy. 8 |
