 Another scene from the WWII reenactment I photograph with my Flickr meetup group every Veteran's Day weekend. This scene was also an outtake from image grain and remembrance. Most of my WPL team liked it, but I had entered other shots instead (not unhappy with a pair of top 10's, mind you!). Lets see how this holds up in a FS on it's own merits.

BTW, he really was napping.

I gave this a 7 because I love the photo. I humbly suggest you try other black and white conversion methods. One that I learned from meister bucket is "Image calculations" in Photoshop. Or just skip HDR if that's what you're doing.

It's like a weird new creature made with food products instead of muscles. The processing is a little too contrasty for my taste. Like you went a step too far to isolate the subject.

This looks too stage managed to be real but nevertheless a great image and a great off-beat viewpoint, nicely done
