 Observant DPCers may recognize the lovely Carly from the recent blur challenge, and my American Gothic Revisited:



This is one of her latest rescues, Ginger, and my first shoot since being sidelined by my cold. Carly has been bragging on FB about Ginger's celebrity qualities, so I couldn't wait to meet her. I don't know if Ginger is different from other ducks, but she sure is something else. After some initial timidity, she came on like gangbusters, quaking and waddling all around the studio. She LOVES having her back scratched. And lettuce. Can't describe the racket she made when I produced some fresh lettuce. I also set up a birdbath with water in it and she climbed right in. Thanks for all the marvelous comments. Yes, the skirt is darker than I'd like, and yes, Carly was trying real hard not to laugh - not because she was in one position too long, but at Ginger's antics :-)

It's fun to see how many people more than I knew this was yours... unless they saw beforehand.

I love it all. Can't see the black spots, but I know my monitor's nuts.

oh wait... so am I.

BUT, I'm sane enough to know this is wonderful, friend!

Person and Pet :) Signature style. Fabulous shot. Great setup, in lights and attire. I think she has too much of a smirk (unnatural) on her face from holding that pose for too long, minor niggle, sure the duck didn't mind hehe.

You certainly have a mysterious gift for befriending pets and turning them not only into your tamed models but showing us their uniqueness in sophisticated environment ; the more uncanny pets, the better your approach.

Nicely set up but unfortunately the processing has left some ugly black smudges near the bottom of the image. Also the dress part is too dark and without detail for my liking.
