Post Challenge:
Wow, a virtual ribbon for Christmas- nice :)

Well thanks all for the comments and votes. I am surprised so many people guessed this was mine, with lots of DPCers in Seattle shooting this building.
Well, the building for those who don't know is the Experience Music Project or EMP.
I have shot the EMP a few times before with good results, but this shot is a little different in that it was shot in the interior space of the building where I haven't seen anybody else shoot. I really didn't shoot this shot hoping to get another ribbon as though they are an honor to get I don't care much about how many I have. And I didn't shoot this because I needed another EMP image in my Home page- ugh! I shot this because it is easily accessible to me given that I walk past it too many days out of the year going to and from work for one. But the main reason I shot this was to just have fun again with a camera. Just a few days before shooting this I was pretty miserable when I had to abandon several images I had shot for the Heavy Metal Song topic only because my team that was hurting for entries needed an entry for a semi-final match. I just could not make the time to finish processing everything together and this was thoroughly disappointing. So it just felt good to look at this mass of color and form through a lens and try to make sense of it all. And I am very pleased it seemed to make sense to many :)

Thank you all- and Merry Christmas!

PS- Did nobody see Batman in purple here? :-0

Congratulations -- I had no idea what this was before I read your notes. If I'd known the voters would go for something colorful I might have submitted the alternate edit of my own entry.

Congrats Brent - stunning image! It's an amazing abstract of the EMP building, so different from anything else I've seen of it. Too bad this wasn't the challenge that counted for WPL instead of the expert challenge! :-D

I don't think I've seen the view of the building like this yet. I love how it looks almost like it's liquified. Gorgeous capture. Congrats on the red!

Awesome to rub shoulders with you, Brent! I love that our entries are constructed with almost identical outer skins. Disney Hall used to be shiny too, but had to be dulled because the reflection was cooking the neighbors :-) Congrats on your ribbon.
