| Good expression of the challenge subject. The main subject is poorly lit compaird to the bright background sky. Maybe flash would have come in hand here or shooting this at another time of the day. |

I find the idea nicely fit with the contest but I think especially the bottom parts of the plant are underexposed and some -the closer- parts are out of focus. It's not easy to get this shot with a clear bright sky (except maybe with a split ND filter).

| Good choice of subjects. My two suggestions -- for whatever they're worth -- would be to crop it closer to the plant and lighten it some. |

I could have scored this higher if the DOF was deeper, and the comp a bit less dead center (really the only two technical issues I am bothered by).
The tie in to the theme seems weak to me. I brought the score down anothe point or two because of that. |

| I like the concept but the stem in the foreground looks a little blurry |

| Would have liked to see this not quite so dark. |

| DOF seems off as the focus is soft around most of the photo. |
