 I asked my wife to pose for me to take prep shots for my Portrait II attempt. She's pregnant, sleepy and sick, and sitting there waiting for me to get the lighting right wasn't her favorite thing to do at the moment.

In a brief moment of relaxation, I made this image, and realized I would not need to have her get all made up for a portrait attempt...making this shot my entry.

Healing brush in Lightroom for a large blemish
Silver Efex Pro for B&W Conversion
Viveza 2 for slight brightness adjustments.

Thank you! There was certainly some stiff competition, I'm just glad all of my images entered here on DPC so far (as a new member) have been at least 5+. Someday I hope to get a shot worthy to hang with the best contenders!

I really like this one. The model bears a resemblance to a young Natalie Merchant. The single sleeve provides good texture and the overall darkness is a wonderful contrast to the pale skin.
