 Before there were John & Kate or the Dugger's, there was my mom & dad. But, they didn't get a TV show. I'm the last of the 13. Mom is now 90 1/2 and getting past a very bad year health-wise. She was in and out of the hospital 13 times in the past year with strokes and stroke-like symptoms.

Last year, I made a vow to myself to enter a portrait of her in a challenge, but unfortunately, didn't get a good enough one until New Year's Eve. I know, even this one isn't the greatest example of portraiture and I suspect it won't score highly, but I don't care. It's my mom, she's awesome and I love her.

Awesome indeed, if portrait is capturing personality, you can't be faulted in any way :)

I like this natural expressions. She looks like she could keep all 13 of them in line, lol. The reflections in the glasses keep drawing my eye and detract. (voted earlier)

OMG I almost jumped out of my chair. Change the nose just a little more to the pointy side and you have my Mother!!!
