 I captured this in South Korea street. I was eating and saw this scene and luckily my camera was on the table. this was the best shot I took on the street in 2011.

Well this is not the best photo I captured for 2011 but I enjoy this photo as I believe it will never be repeated. I even have a printout in my desk.

Very nice use of dof to isolate her from the crowd on the sidewalk, plus framing her with the lines of the crosswalk. The papers she's holding make a nice contrast to her black coat.

Outstanding. This passed the border between a good image and something else. Compression and mass Vs singularity. Immobility Vs Movement. A lesson in composition and several other things.

Great street photography shot, gives me the sense of a story here free for interpretation, wich is the only type of street photography I like. Gave a 9. Actually came back a couple of days later to give a 10, my favorite in this challenge.

I leave the safety of the curb
to venture across the street.
It is as in life,
there are those who choose
to stand apart from the crowd.

Great eye to spot this symbolic moment. Isolated - there are two perceptions that can be read here. Is she isolated because the crowd has banished/excluded? Or is she a risk taker? Is she one who has chosen to stand apart from the crowd to achieve success by venturing to the other side of the road?

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: HA! like a pantomime, I want to shout "They're behind you!!!". Truly marvellous composition - perfect in high contrast black and white. I also like how your DOF has isolated her; as her position to the crowd has done so physically.

Critical stuff: Being picky, but I think you could have shaved a little off the left side and the tiniest bit off the right - this would have given us this marvellous image a little bigger on our screen :-)

Overall: Excellent moment, fantastically well presented.

So weird, these tight clusters of people, as if they are involved in some wacky Japanese TV game show. Perhaps the nonconformist is about to get bonked on the head by a giant polystyrene cupcake. Or perhaps not, and I'm just foolishly toying with your excellent & interesting picture. It's fun either way. Thank you. 7.

Makes me pause and consider the full range of possible narratives. Also like the repeating lines, arrows pointing to the separaed subject, and separation of one from many.

Great job isolating her from the crowd; it's an odd vantage point, I'm curious as to where you took this from. Good focus on her, an interesting image, she looks lost in thought as well as being seperate from the other people, makes the title work even better.
