Kiss, as she's known, is a 29-yr-old Kentucky-bred TB mare who tore up the tracks in the 80s. She now lives a very enjoyable retirement with Liz and her husband, Maurice. Here I am trying to catch that quietness between a horse and their human.

Shot handheld from the stall across the aisle, which I had to share with Kiss' daughter, Daisy.

I like the intimacy between horse and human here.

I wonder how this would've looked with a lower ISO, seems a little grainy. Not sure if that is good or bad, though.

Excellent human/horse communication and expression of emotion. Just slightly underexposed, but I'm sure the background window created difficult lighting. 8

Top shot in this challenge for me, 10! Great warmth here while also having great lighting and sharpness.
