Camera: Vivitar ViviCam 3765
Location: Gaffney, SC - on my front porch.

While playing around with a party torch trying to capture the flame, I noticed I could capture the smoke too. After looking them over, I noticed what appeared to be the ghostly image of a Civil
War soldier in the smoke.

WOW! Thanks for the 9 and 10 vote! :D

Here's the Unedited Version - Caution: it's 1.6MB

For those of you who didn't see the ghostly image, if you look about a quarter of the way down from the top in the center, there appears to be an eye. If you follow the image from there, you should see the face of a man.

The man appears to be wearing the uniform of a US Civil War Soldier.

I titled it Undying Hope because the "ghost" in the photo is still searching for something. That, to me, shows Hope.

I am clueless and I have too many pictures yet to go.

um, looks more like "dying from second-hand smoke" than "undying hope"

I assume this is smoke - and the title implies you can smoke without increasing the chance of dying. I doubt that that hope is a reality. The image itself has some nice pattersn/lines but the tonal range is so slight it becomes un-interesting quickly.

Maybe I missed something but I just don't make a connection here.

Hate to admit it, but I just don't get it. It there a shape formed in the smoke that I just can't pick out? Very nice abstract, though! 5

If your camera will allow it, making the image bigger would help. I'd like to see more of the detail here.
