 I`m sure some people will think this was taken at a zoo but I shot this while on safari in the Serengeti. I would have loved to have entered this at the time but had no internet.

Editing:
Crop, dodge, burn, desat, sharpen, resize.

One of the best animal images of the year. You did manage the backlighting very well.

Very cute shotand typical African image, but you're right, all these Zoo pictures passing themselves of as Wildlife (rather than Nature) have tainted and poisoned me and thus I didn't comment.
DPC doesn't have a "Wildlife" category which should be Wildife-non-captive, only a "Nature" category which should be Nature-Captive.

Just absolutely adore this. Big fan of big cats and those cubs are simply adorable. Mum looks protective but relaxed and this is just a gorgeous family portrait.

Beautiful family moment, those faces are precious, mummy looks so protective yet tender. Why so thin on the crop though? I'd have liked to see a little more of this scene. Lovely shot.
