Laurie I can not guarantee too many things in life, but the fact you will have a good time is something you can bank on.

/me goes to hide all her Star Wars, Star Trek and StarGate toys...

Geek? Me? Nah, no sci-fi geeks in this house...

psst! Nimitz, you need to ditch the Trek collar while laurie is here. Yes I know you like it. No you may not wear it while she's here. Cause I'm the mom and said so! Now stick that in the pantry. Good kitty...

Nope. Geek free house....

(as Nimitz pulls out his toy tribble in the background...)

Right now, it looks like my husband will be coming with me, as long as his work doesn't get in the way! (When he got me the 20D he took over my 10D, so he'll be a shooter too.)

Well, now there's an idea!
I could upgrade to a 20D and "let" my hubby have the Rebel!
(Unfortunately, it's not his passion.....oh, well!)

wow I want to go to this, I have relatives there so I will probably be there also, I will give them a call see if I can stay with them. I will try to come either way, just checked out travelocity and the rates are cheap.

So right now I say I can be there,

Clara (blemt) offered to give suggestions. Maybe they could be posted here?

I'm thinking there must be a Budget or similar nearby to all the activity. I know the rates can be slightly better in Arlington vs. "downtown" DC... but I mostly travel there for conferences and don't have to foot the bill myself. (Conferences offer better rates, as well.)

As soon as I start gaining, instead of losing, money on my photo-passion, this will be my song...

Right now we don't have an official hotel. I strongly suggest hotels near Metro stations in DC. Di, have you got my hotel stayer headcount handy? If you were planning to stay in a hotel and not on a floor, speak up. :)

By end of week I will have preliminary expense information handy. I'm waiting to see just how many people are coming. If you are DRIVING down to the event, please post that information, if you are renting a car also post that data.

Jeremy, I got your info- we just need to know driving or not. I have a floor space for you. :)

There will be multiple shooting events over the weekend- locals if you would like to come for just part of the weekend, let me know as well. Full itinerary is coming shortly.

With the volume of people coming, I might be inclined to do some special things for folks this GTG. Any objections if I need to request a deposit to sort out shooting permits (due to group size), t-shirts, and food for dinner courtesy of Chef Bammers?

Okay, you all sucked me in!
I know I can be there on the evening of the 29th. Maybe the 30th. By the 31st, I should be on my way to New Mexico for 10 days!
I can pick people up from BWI if they are flying in there. Sorry I can't provide space, though I'd like to. I can't guarantee when I'll be leaving...

So far only one that i know of is staying at a hotel... but those who are ... Private message me please... or my email is on my profile..

We definatley need to know about the shooting permits and whether we need them with the crowd coming... so far 17 people ahve said they are coming.

When we get a firm schedule up then we should look at the grocery list for Friday night :)

This GTG is beginning to have a life all its own. Now we just need to convince D & L to show up. Especia;lly considering there are at least 5 of us flying in for it and several others driving 9+ hours.

ok, that's it. count me in.

i may drive, but flying is a possibility. i will be staying in a hotel, rather than drive everyone nuts with my snoring and be smothered in my sleep. :P
