Sentinel by david_cComment: Great. 10. To me this image goes beyond "the lighthouse", "the lonely tree", "the cat", "the dog" .... touching the core of the idea. Again, just like a Conrad story. |

Starlightby gsalComment: My second most favorite portrait of the challenge. Has the air of a waif who just got a part in a marionette show. A Piaf look alike. Very nice. |

late - no. 48by mgsmith53Comment: Came back to upgrade your picture that stuck to my mind. Looks like a music score and I almost can hear the cicadas. Or frogs! I imagine it still continuing to the right, endlessly. Beautiful! Top 10. |

Outside looking inby BrinComment: Very nice and refreshing to see the back of a cat after all the landscapes (and I do not say pejoratively "landscapes" since some are stunning) and portraits. |

Near the riverby HistoricusComment: I keep coming back to your picture. Chekhovian. I am missing something though. It looks just a touch flat like a constructed stage set before the lighting designer's touch. Nevertheless, top 10 for me. |

Windowsby SaraRComment: I had to revise my vote (for the better) - a great stage design; also reminds me of Anselm Kiefer. Top 10! |

Hitch a Wagon to the Stars by gwilton111Comment: Your superb image brought me the entire flavor of Jean Giono's book "The Joy of Man's Desiring" - almost untranslatable title of the French "Qu ma joie demeure". It begins with one of these simple but eerie lines, full of promises, that are always quoted in anthologies of novels : "C'etait une nuit extraordinaire ....". The title of your mysterious photo is rather pedestrian while the photo is top 10! Thanks. |

LONELYby andrewtComment: I would love so much, so much more this photo without borders. They confine and almost kill the limitless of the image. Its cosmic quality is reduced to a beautiful shot. Still, top 10 for me. |
