This should finish among the top, I'd say. The shadow makes this scene feel as though death is still pulling at the poor creature. I think the texture of the background is a perfect choice as well. Gripping!

This is fab! I see an outdoor marketplace full of people, many in hats, some with beards, all draped in flowing, exotic robes, a couple of dogs and a cat. Every time I look away then back again I see a new face. Wonderful find :)

Colours are fabulous and I love the varied aspects of flight which gives this a sense of movement and lightness. My only little nit-pik is the open expanse behind the movement rather than before it - meaning I would have cropped it closer on the left and left more open space on the right - but perhaps that was not possible with this scene. In any case, very nice!
