Not very appealing. If you are talking about destructive forces... maybe you should have waited for a storm so that the clouds can be forboding and evil to push the image in that direction, rather than relying on the title.

I like the high contrast... except it might be too high because it flattens the image such that the focus (the stone) is washed out and overpowered by everything else around it.

It looks like you just used desaturation to cause a black/white. I found that in my own entry that it is a horrible way of getting b/w in dimly lit pictures due to low contrast. Try twiddling with the color channels instead. In my case, I isolated only the green channel and set that to b/w and it looked strikingly better. In Photoshop you can do this by using the Channel Mixer and setting green to 100% and the rest to 0% on all color channels.
