Go on then - light my fire!by hughletherenComment: Not exactly original. Maybe if you dropped some powder on the flame to get unusual colors or a few sparks? A more interesting background could help provide a context, too... maybe a moody scene with wine glasses and about to light a candle? |

Slammin'by karmatComment: Good idea, but wouldn't the flames be trailing an [upward] moving ball? Just turn the ball upside down before shooting and rotate the image 180 degrees to get the effect. A low-speed fan on the flames would really give the impression of a meteor. |

match this!by tolovemoonComment: OK- foreground match and background lighter. The depth of field hurts you here- the flame is in focus but the match isn't, so obviously they're on different planes. Shoot this in brighter light... the flame won't be as blown out and you'll be able to increase depth of field. |

Oppositesby Kaja LundComment: Very cool. I like the transparency of the flames and thermal distortions in the background. I think it could have been even better with a vertical crop of the left side. |

Digits of Fireby Links 2 3 4Comment: This could have been really cool if only you'd cropped just the hand and shot in brighter light to cut down on noise levels. I appreciate the obvious trouble you went to for the flames, though. |

The Burning Issueby xenoaxleComment: Yes, it meets the challenge but goes no further than that. The flames are blown out and basically centered in a static composition. Maybe a different angle or diagonal? |

Flame Baitby dsa157Comment: For poaching fish? Interesting idea, and I like the fish-shaped flame. Might have been even better with a (flame colored) red lure and a darker background for contrast. |

3... 2... 1...by GeneralEComment: Very clever interpretation. The fuzzy hand on the left is distracting though, as is the red noise on the thumbnail. The image also should be rotated a bit to get that button squared up. |

fire waterby Ecce_SignumComment: The sharp edges and strong posterization looks like some heavy Photo retouching to me. The focus is soft, the reflection doesn't really add to the image, and the bottle isn't tilted quite enough to look intentional. I do like the concept, though. |
