Abbyby woohoopepperComment: I think you have done a wonderful job, great light and color. Like how the earing matches the hair also, so it deserves a good score also. Nice use of the thrids.
Good luck |

Childhood revisitedby hannekeComment: Wow what a story you have! But I think you have over done it with the lights, the left hand is blowed way out of the picture. I don't know how close your model was to the background, but have moved them out a few feet and man this would have been much better. Great I deal hope to see more! |

Colleenby danderson107Comment: For me the over all image is too busy, the quality of light looks good. As I look around in your image I see things I would change like the shirt maybe a plain color, something more to be a more contrasty to your umbrela, like maybe a stripped shirt. Just to give it some more lines, with the great lines in your umbrela. These are just my thoughts hope you do well. She is very pretty girl. Have a grat day. |

Nightfallby Bear_MusicComment: Nice colors. I like it lots, one thing, I tried, since you have some great colors in your water, I used selective color and pull them up the beach more. To me it gave it some more pop. Them I just painted the sky back. Just and ideal

summer-marsh-3-IMG_0280.jpgby Bear_MusicComment: I have study some of your pictures and it didn't take me long to figure out what your showing us. It's the stillnees, its about being calm!
As for the critique, even though you have red inside the boat and along the sky, the boat works the sky no. Its the contrast that seem off to me. Since you are breaking alot of rules might as well break them all.
Its got some repeating lines, but no power points, Not saying I don't like the image.
Just a critique.

angle-jetty-IMG_3215.jpgby Bear_MusicComment: This is one of the photographs that just pulls you into the center of the image, with the diagnols of the rocks, that lead you to the horizon and the clouds suck you to the center as if, it was the end of the world. To me it looks as if it just falls off. I think, the rocks to left show a anchor.
Wish I was sitting there with you. Great stillness.
No really down points for me in this photo, you have set a good mood.
One thing what if you had waited an 1/2 to hour later. And ran longer shuttter lets say 3 to 5 mins, at low iso and used maybe a small amout of light on your rocks (like panning your flashlight back and forth along the rocks.
Of course I know it was outake for 2 sec challenge.
But I think, good things come to those who wait.
I think it need a title also.
Nice shot,

chatham-bars-fences-dpc-DSC.jpgby Bear_MusicComment: This has nice line quality to it also, diagonals, north shore line both sides of the inlet and the path. Complimentary lines, nice points on the fences, those in the foreground and the first inlet north side, where the water and sand meet and the small rolling hills along the horizon.
Things that I think, I would change...the sky has no really points of interest and the little eye distraction at the top left. Colors are fair but that's all in your taste.
This is my first real critique and I need to practice on someone and I thought you would take it better :-) Message edited by author 2006-04-04 23:34:07. |
